波罗夷

(波羅夷, 波罗夷)

(sa) pārājika. The first section of the Vinaya piṭaka containing rules of expulsion from the order, for unpardonable sin. Also [lang id =1028]波羅闍巳迦; [lang id =1028]波羅市迦. Cf. [lang id =1028]四波羅夷. There are in Hīnayāna eight sins for expulsion of nuns, and in Mahāyāna ten. The esoteric sects have their own rules.
